It is political season and I've had almost too much on a local level battling with my daughter's school district for the past two months.  Not that that appears over, it is time for National Politics.  There will be a workout next week for the Democrats too, but, here's one for tonight and the rest of the Republican convention.

NBA Finals

Sorry I've been gone for so long.  I plan to pick up again, now that summer T.V. is starting.  But for this week, the most important thing starting is the NBA Finals.  It is kind of fun that the Miami Heat are in it, because they are so polarizing.  I'm torn because my dear friend hates the Heat, but I feel kind of bad for LeBron James.  Also, I'm from the Pacific Northwest and the Thunder used to be the Supersonics, and I just don't know if that makes me love them or hate them...

So, here are some workouts.  There is one for Heat fans, one for Thunder Fans, and the 2 other people in America like me that don't really have a favorite.  As my dad says every baseball season, "I just want the series to go to 7 games so I get to watch more."  Except, in this case, watch more and exercise more.  BONUS!

NBA Playoffs

So, I haven't been very active on here recently for two main reasons.  The first being that I've been catching up on Mad Men from the beginning and the second is that I've gotten sucked into the NBA Playoffs.  Plus, there are a lot of reruns on right now.  And we're remodeling our kitchen...That's four reasons.  I should also add that there is a challenge going on at my Crossfit and I'm exhausted.  But, I figured I'd pull together a workout for Basketball Games.  This would be tough to do the whole time, but would be quite the workout.  Maybe do the first and fourth quarter?  Or some other split if you are tired.  Good Luck!  Have fun. And most of all, know your limits!!

Stuck in Syndication Week

The focus for this week's shows is shows that are stuck in syndication.  My favorits show in syndication is Friends.  The other day I was flipping through the channels, and I got stuck on the last episode of Friends, because you can't turn off the series finale.  Then, it said there was another episode coming up and I wondered what they would show after the last episode, then I stayed and watched the first ever episode, because who can resist the pilot?  I'm a sucker for Friends.  ENJOY!

Guilty Pleasures

I missed another day...But to make up for it, I will be watching two guilty pleasures tonight.  Anything on E! is a guilty pleasure and so is my obsession for Will And Kate, so the Will and Kate special on E! tonight is a double guilty pleasure!  Here is the Workout.

Guilty Pleasures: Toddlers and Tiaras

Sorry I missed yesterday.  My kids are sick and we had date night planned, and this got forgotten.  On the upside, Toddlers and Tiaras is on tonight and I hate to admit how much I love and watch this show.  I can't watch in front of my daughters because I know my oldest would immediately ask if she could do pageants!  Also, my husband mocks me.  But, I can't help it.  I. MUST. WATCH.  Which is sort of the definition of "guilty pleasure."  At least if I'm working out, I don't have to feel so bad about it.  RIGHT?!

I stopped watching House a couple years ago, but the commercials last week sucked me back in.  It was pretty much a disappointment on the relationship front (Wilson's Son is just an elaborate House prank...grr...) but the Medical part and the new characters caught my eye.  So, House it is!  Here is a workout for when you watch House.

Birthday Burpees

Today is my Birthday so I'll be prying myself away from one of my favorite nights of T.V. to hang out with real people.  I'm most bummed about missing Shark Tank tonight, since it is finally a new episode.  Also, I Grimm.  They both have workouts on the blog though.

Even though I won't be doing any exercise games, I will be doing Birthday Burpees this afternoon.  28 Burpees to welcome my 28th year of life!!

Thursday Night on ABC

Tonight I'll be pretty much hanging out on ABC.  Watching Missing, Grey's Anatomy, and Scandal.  I have a workout for Grey's which I'll be doing, but I'm also looking for ideas for workouts while watching Missing and Scandal.

Exercise Games: Criminal Minds

Tonight is Wednesday, and it is a late night for me because I just can't help staying up late for Criminal Minds.  I love, love, love Criminal Minds and not just because I grew up watching the Young and the Restless and can't get enough Shemar Moore!  Not to mention, I loved Darma and Greg...Basically, I love the cast.  Love the show.  Have been watching it from the beginning, and now, I can workout while I watch!  Here is the workout!

Biggest Loser Workout: Ah Man, this is so late!

I said I'd post this today, but life got in the way.  It was a beautiful day, the first in awhile, and my daughters got invited to a friends house.  And then we had to go pick up preschool registration papers for my oldest, and I swear she was barely walking just yesterday, she's grown so fast.  So, this workout isn't all that useful this week, unless you DVR, but it is a general workout, so it will be useful at some point.

Clearly this is one of those workouts that I should have posted awhile ago, it totally makes sense that you would workout during the Biggest Loser. However, I have a Biggest Loser confession: I can't help but snack while watching Biggest Loser.  I don't know why, but I just can't help myself.  I should be working out, but I'm usually just stuffing my face!  It is kind of weird...I'm kind of weird.

As much as I love to do Prime-Time shows, the most convenient time for me to workout is actually during daytime television (especially if the kids take a nap). Exercise Game: Shark Tank

Shark Tank is one of my favorite shows on television. I'm not very business minded, so I find it all very fascinating. I love the conflict, the numbers, the "Why didn't I think of that?" ideas...

Here is a general workout for Shark Tank.

As always, only do what you can do. If you need a break, take one. If Mark Cuban rants about patents during every segment, and a few times in between, decrease the number of Burpees. This should be fun and just get you moving a bit.

Touch Numbers

Well, it is interesting that touch was all about numbers, since this workout was too. My total number was 494, and the overall workout felt good. Although the commercials seemed super LONG! Did anyone else keep track of their numbers?

Series Premier of Touch!

The series premier of Touch is starting out tonight, and I have high hopes that it won't suck. I loved 24 at the beginning and feel like this show could have the same impact. But, since I don't really know what to expect, it was difficult to make a workout, so we're going to do our first commercial break workout!

NCIS


NCIS is a show that I usually just catch if it is on, but don't usually plan to watch. I'm hoping to catch tonight's episode, but since I haven't seen it in awhile, I set up a generic exercise to do.

Tuck Jumps can be hard and you can substitute with 10 butt-kickers. Always remember to only do what your body can handle and to take breaks if you need them. Good luck!

Tuesday Is Jeopardy Day


I don't have anything specific I watch on Tuesdays, so if there are any suggestions let me know. However,we love Jeopardy in our house, and it can be a fun Exercise Game too.

I recommend watching Jeopardy with a friend and getting your workout. Lay on your stomach next to each other and see who gets the correct answer first. If you get the right answer, the other person does 4 push-ups. If no one gets the answer correct, then you both do two. See how you feel and try to double the push-ups in double jeopardy. Then you both write down an answer in final jeopardy. If you are correct, then your workout is over. If not, 1 minute of Burpees!
